STRADBROKE HANDICAP – A QUICK SUMMARY OF THE FIELD

By Hilly

– MR QUICKIE: Not the name you want to be known by amongst the girls, but quick on the track he is. He is a quality racehorse and thats evident by him being lumbered with top weight. Hasn’t raced since 17th April which poses the question, will he be a bit stiff for this.

– SAVATOXL: Don’t get this fella confused with Savlon or any other bacterial cream. He’s come up to the Sunshine state via Northern Territory, Victoria and South Australia. Ran okay albeit wayward in the Kingsford Smith Cup, but thinking he may need something for the windburn after this.

– TOFANE: The horse with the best kiwi pronunciation in the field. Funny that with him being named after a mountain range in Italy! Best form has her capable but she may have peaked too soon.

– IMAGING: One of Wallers crew who has drawn out wide. Has had. ore trials this prep than a St George Forward. Looks like he is having a few issues this time in.

– OLMEDO: This horse is the perfect example of putting ambition above ability. Not for me.

– SO SI BON: For a non-winner that has earnt 1.8 Million I still don’t see the reason for the hype around this bloke. He is like a haemorrhoid that doesn’t go away. If he wins here, which we are confident he won’t Jack will be running naked down the home straight after the last.

– WILD PLANET: If he wins the ol’ Wayney Hawkes aka FONC will have this down as one of the greatest training feats of the modern era. Chose not to run in the Kingsford-Smith giving him a month in. between runs. He has never raced on the specialist track and has a wide gate. Is too good to leave out.

– NICCANOVA: We have always had time for this fella and we were on him heavily each way last year when he ran third. Ran that wide last start in the Kingsford-Smith that he could have grabbed a can from the bar! With a patient ride the current $18 on offer has our eyes popping!

– I AM SUPERMAN: This race and field might be his kryptonite.

– VICTOREM: Has not won a race run 13 months and this is harder than a Country Championships Final. Not going to get a brass razoo of ours this year. Happy to watch him go around.

– VEGA ONE: What a win last start in the Kingsford-Smith breaking Gollans G1 drought, I must admit though prob the best ride I have seen on a racetrack. How Kah got him home I will never know. The question now is was that run the horses Grand Final? And also no J.Kah piloting.

– THE HARROVIAN: Another one having a month between runs, caught the eye running Home with the flashing lights on in the Kingsford-Smith. Can the connections win the same race two years running with different horses? Will look the winner at some stage.

– SIGNORE FOX: Is jumping from the car park, but he can be the wily one in the field that may get under the punters’ guard. The better of the two Snowden runners in my opinion and could cause a boilover at a price. If it does win we can only hope Paulie has tipped it to the stable faithfuls.

– EMERALD KINGDOM: Apparently ridden upside down last start and won powerfully. Will be interesting to see how he is ridden this time. Making up the numbers in our opinion.

– MADAM ROUGE – SCRATCHED

– SUBPOENAED: Could be her day in court, could not, the lemmings are piling in due to the R.Stewart/C.Waller combo that caught everyone by surprise, well not everyone *wink wink*. Can’t see little Ronny Stewart pulling a rabbit out of the hat again here.

– MASTER JAMIE: Safe to say we think he wont be mastering a Group1 today. No.

– APACHE CHASE: Is an Eagle Farm specialist, but this may have all come too soon for him even with the featherweight. Next year.

– OUTBACK BARBIE: A favourite here at YTP and was the horse that inspired the iconic “I’M NOT A GOOD PERSON BUT GOOD THINGS HAPPEN TO BAD PEOPLE” viral video Mitchell made. She seems over the odds but is a VERY inconsistent horse. Take at own risk.
