YTP BLACKBOOK:

By Hilly

We hit the track on Saturday with what we thought was some good hopes in two hard Group 1 races. Reloaded jumped first in the Epsom hcp.  He settled in the back half of the field, where front runners set a strong pace.  Didn’t do much in the straight, but not the best tactical ride by Boss. Also maybe aiming a little too high in this class. Hopefully Waller pulls him down in grade and we get a win.

Then the big girl, Montefilia hit the track for the Metropolitan hcp and over the distance she was strong and in a nail biter held on by a short head to claim her first group 1 and a win for us paying $5.40/$2.50.

Mr Wong was scratched from Saturday and ran Sunday at the Sunshine Coast in a bm72. Not winning that, doesn’t give us confidence in the future. He’s goneeee.

Onto what caught our eye:
Doomben 02/10/21

Track Condition: Soft6
R4. 2030M Bm80

4. BAJANGOLD (2/12)settled second last of a big field. Had to stay on the inside of the field in the straight and help up slightly with the leader extending his lead. Then followed the eventual winner though a gap hitting the line extending to finish second.

R6. 1630m Bm854. BAANONE (4/12) jumped from a sticky barrier drifting back to be able to get over closer to the fence. Settle in a group of three at the rear of the field.  On the turn found himself self last and jockey pulled him in for a rails run. Just plodding in the straight and the field split in two. With a brilliant ride by Kyle Wilson-Taylor kept him going bringing him to the outside of the front pack and hit the line flashing home.

R8. 1050m Open hcp7. PIZONIE (4/9) scrubbed up out of the barrier to stay in touch with leading group. With a bunched field infront of him in the straight he was held up a few times. Then the gaps opened with him hitting the line hard with the three in front in a photo.
