YTP MLB POST SEASON REVIEW

By Hilly

And then there was four! Wow!

What a crazy post season so far. With the wild card games starting the post season with some exciting baseball.
In the Americal league game the Boston Red Sox got off to a flyer against the Yankees and were able to gold on and win 6-2.
The National League like a card game went down to the wire with the LA Dodgers tying it up in the fourth innings with the sweetest of home run’s, you have ever seen by Justin Turner.  Then it came down to the bottom the ninth innings and one out, Chris Taylor who had been unable to hit a ball. Hits the ball in the crowd and sending a runner on base home for a 3-1 win. If you were not pumped by this , no matter who you support, there is something wrong. The Cardinals fought hard and did an amazing effort to get into the post season.

In the American League The white sox went in against the Houston Astros as underdogs. We thought with the season they had, they had a chance. But silly to think they’d be beating a team like the Astro’s, with their sharp bullpen and a batting lineup like theirs. They were able to win one game going down 4-1. With the other series between last year’s runner up, Tampa Bay Rays this would be a walk in the park against the wildcard winners, Boston Red Sox. It this was obvious after the Rays won the first game 5 nil, the Red Sox went on to win the next 3 games winning the series.

In similar scenes in the National League with Milwaukee Brewers after having a stand out season took on the Atlanta Braves. Winning their first game and then fell away losing the next 3 games.

Then came the game we said should have been the World Series final, both San Francisco Giants and LA Dodgers. The two best teams all year Winning over 100 games each. They didn’t disappoint going into the fifth and deciding game to go the Dodgers way 2-1, finishing in controversial decision to end the game.

With the American League under way today in a tight game, the Astro’s going 1-0 in the 7 game series. Boston had them on the ropes for a good part of the game, until the little Jose Altuve came to the plate in the bottom of the 6th. Down by 2 and a runner on base he hit a fly ball to left centre and into the crowd to level it up at 3 all.  Then with a further run to the Red Sox and another 2 to the Astros to win 5-4. Will not surprise if this goes the length of the straight and play a seventh game decider to go into the World Series Final.  Astros a $5 chance and Red Sox $6 if it comes down to the decider. Still is not a clear standout. If having a bet we think that Jose Altuve is good odds aroundh $6 to hit a home run and $3.50 for 2+ hits.

The National League final gets underway tomorrow Australian time with the LA Dodgers taking on the Atlanta Braves. The the Dodgers winning against the Giants with players out injured and a top and inform batting line-up,  not to mention their top class pitchers. Would be very surprised to see them losing the series. Any batting bet with Cory Bellinger is our tip.

Let’s sit back an enjoy ⚾️
