Well, the MLB playoffs are here and what a wild ride the past few weeks have been!
Now we are left with ten teams and we were close with our playoff predictions.
But who would have thought the St Louis CARDINALS would make a run for it winning 17 games in a row and scoring themselves a wildcard berth!
San Francisco GIANTS have come from missingthe playoffs last year, to being this season’s best with a 107 wins/55 loses, a franchise record. Subsequently Winning the National league West Division, with some tough and aggressive baseball. With a batting line up that has finished second hitting a massive 240 home runs inthe season. They are a team that can be behind but just find away to win. They are still ourpick to win the World Series! They will have to wait to learn who they play out of the National League Wild Card Game,where Los Angeles DODGERS will face off in a one game only against the St Louis CARDINALS. It is a shame the DODGERS must play a wild card game when they finish secondover all with 106 wins/56 loses. As defending champions, it was no surprise to see how wellthey have played. The last few weeks their batting line up has been seeing them like beachballs. It is hard to see them losing to the CARDINALS. Winning this will bring a five games series against the GIANTS which to us should be the World series final!!!
On the other half of the National league draw, Milwaukee BREWERS (95 wins/67 loses) faceoff against Atlanta BRAVES (88 wins/73 loses) in a five games series.
The BREWERS havebeen the surprise packets all year and have been playing great baseball. As we predictedthey won their division with a leg in the air. They had their pants pulled down by the DODGERS in a three game series to finish the season.
The BREWERS bullpen should be the difference in this series. We are predicting a 4-1 series win to the BREWERS. They will then face off against the winner of GIANTS and DODGERS/CARDINALS in a seven game series togo into the World Series Final.On the other side of the playoffs is the American League where the wild card will be foughtout between the Boston REDSOX and New York YANKEES, which was decided in the lastgame of the season. With both team finishing with a record of 92 wins/ 70 loses, who wins.This game could go either way and I think they are teams you like or hate.
Who ever does win will find it hard to get past the Tampa Bay RAYS who won their division with a record of100 wins/ 62 loses, in a five game series. The RAYS have been the best of the AmericanLeague all year and being runners up last year may have stuck with them. The RAYS to winthat 4-1. The other side of that draw, both winners of their divisions the Houston ASTROS (95 wins/67 loses) will play the Chicago WHITE SOX (93 wins/ 69 loses) in a five game series. For thefifth straight season in the playoffs the ASTROS no what it is all about. However, we aretipping an upset in this series with a 3-2 series win to the WHITE SOX. Winner of the serieswill then face off against the RAYS for a world series final start.
The way the draw is now we are tipping a San Francisco GIANTS (if they can triumph overthe DODGERS) and Tampa Bay RAYS World series final!
With a few miss firing blackbookers the last few weeks, with shit tracks and bad rides, horse’s spelling and one even dying. The blackbook has had clean out. With the latest results not going our way, we are still in front.

On a fresh Rosehill track on Saturday, the ridiculous decision was made to take him to the rear of the field. With a Rosehill track that has been used sparingly over the winter, has a record favouring front runners. To his credit and with a big weight of 61kg, hechased hard down the outside of the field. Finishing 2 lengths from the winner.
R6 1500m Gr25. RELOADED (3rd/9) Jumped in the middle of the field, drifting to the back. He was scrubbed up to settle 3rd last of the nine horse field. After straightening out of the turn he had no where to go except back on to the fence. Making ground and wayward under riding and close in between horses, the gap open and he hit the line hard. Just to miss out by the narrowest of margins, with the winner having an unimpeded run.

R6 #8 – Barneys Law ($8.50) Back to 1300 here suits, marshal sticks, needs luck from the gate but if it falls into place he can go very close. He tries hard. EW
R7 #2 – Wapiti ($4.20) Originally liked Champagne Aunty..just think the awkward gate throws a spanner in the works. Wapiti from the good draw lands further forward and take luck out of the equation. A real grinder that likes a dogfight. SMALL WIN (for interest sake).
R8 #1 – Soxagon ($4.60) Stewart won’t be spotting them 20 olympic swimming pools at the bend this time around. Drawn soft to just stalk them the whole way. Can’t see the weight stopping him, looks a bloody good chance. BEST WIN
R9 #16 – Don’t Stop ($6) Some kind of lottery to end the day here. Drawn low so won’t get back further than mid field. They tend to go crazy upfront come this part of the day, will suit. Like Cartwright sticks and a real horses for courses type. Has a city class race in him and gets his chance to prove that here. BEST EW
